Engineered Wood Floor Sanding

Careful, minimal-removal sanding that protects the real-wood top layer.

Overview

Engineered floors have a real hardwood top layer bonded to a stable core. Many can be sanded and refinished – the key is knowing how much wear layer you have and sanding with a controlled, minimal-removal approach. We'll check your floor first and give you honest advice on whether sanding, a buff-and-recoat or another option is right.

  • Wear layer checked first
  • Minimal-removal sanding
  • Removes scratches and dullness
  • Fresh finish or new colour
  • Honest advice if sanding isn't suitable

FAQs

Engineered Wood Floor Sanding questions

Can engineered floors be sanded?

Many can, provided the real-wood wear layer is thick enough. We check before we start and will tell you honestly if it isn't suitable.

Is a buff and recoat an alternative?

If the finish is worn but the wood isn't damaged, buffing and recoating can refresh the floor without full sanding.
