Oil & Hardwax Oil Finishes

Natural oil finishes that enrich the grain and can be touched up without re-sanding.

Overview

Oil finishes soak into the timber, deepening the grain and giving a warm, natural look and feel underfoot. Modern hardwax oils combine that natural look with good protection, and worn areas can be refreshed locally without sanding the whole floor. Oil is a particularly good choice for oak, parquet and herringbone.

Oil or lacquer?

Lacquer gives the toughest surface protection; oil gives a more natural look and can be repaired locally. We'll recommend the best option for how you use the room.

How do I look after an oiled floor?

Sweep or vacuum regularly, clean with a suitable floor soap and give it a maintenance coat when it starts to look dry – we'll leave you with aftercare advice.
