FAQs

Straight answers

How much does floor sanding cost?

Every floor is different – the size, condition, repairs, gap filling, colour and finish all make a difference – so we quote each job individually. Call or WhatsApp a few photos for a fast, free, no-obligation quote: we'll talk it through on the phone and follow up with a written quote. Our minimum charge is £300.

Is floor sanding dusty?

Many companies claim to be 'dust free', but honestly no one is 100%. Our Bona and Lägler machines have very high dust extraction capacity – we'd put it at 98–99% dust-free. We clean down thoroughly before we leave; a little surface dust can settle over the next few days, but it is very minimal.

Who will carry out the work?

Darren carries out the work personally – the business is built on reputation, so it's essential the job is done right. If another sander is ever needed, they are personally chosen by Darren and work to the same standard.

Should I choose filler or slivers for the gaps?

Resin filler isn't guaranteed – wood moves, and filler can work its way out over time. For pine floors we recommend slivers: a longer process, but a far better finish with much less chance of filler dropping out. Oak floors usually have minimal gaps, so filler is very unlikely to come out.

Should I paint my skirting boards before or after sanding?

After, ideally – sanding right up to the edges can mark fresh paint. We can also offer skirting painting as part of the job.

Can you fit new floors as well?

Yes. We supply and fit laminate and real wood floors, and we're happy to fit flooring you've bought yourself.

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes – if you've had work done by us and book another job in the same year, we'll give you a 10% customer loyalty discount as a thank you.
