Work completed

Old stain and varnish sanded off with a belt sander, edges and hearth surrounds detailed with edge sanders, floorboards lifted and re-fixed where repairs were needed in the bedroom, then fine sanding and a clear lacquer finish.

Challenges overcome

Dark stain soaked deep into the softwood around the room edges, two period fireplaces and hearths to work around, and a section of bedroom boards that had to come up and go back down before sanding could start.
