Buffing & Maintenance Recoats

Refresh a tired lacquered or oiled floor without a full sand.

Overview

If your floor's finish is dull or lightly worn but the timber itself isn't damaged, a buff and recoat can bring it back to life for a fraction of the cost of full sanding. The surface is cleaned and buffed to give the new coat something to grip, then a fresh coat of lacquer or oil is applied. Our buffing machine is also used for fine sanding between coats on full restorations.

  • Less time and cost than full sanding
  • Restores sheen and protection
  • Extends the life of your floor
  • Ideal for regular maintenance

FAQs

Buffing & Maintenance Recoats questions

How do I know if I need a full sand?

If there are deep scratches, grey worn patches or bare wood showing, a full sand is usually needed. If it's just dull, a recoat may be enough – we'll tell you honestly.
