Parquet Restoration Guide

From loose blocks to a flawless finish – the parquet restoration process explained.

Re-securing blocks

Loose blocks are lifted, cleaned up and re-fixed before sanding so the floor is solid underfoot.

Sanding the pattern

Parquet is sanded across the pattern to level it, then refined with multi-disc and buffing machines so no cross-grain scratches remain.

Finishing

Matt lacquers and hardwax oils are the most popular finishes for parquet, showing off the pattern without too much shine.
